EXCELLENCE STARTS ON ACADEMIC WORK
All things sprang from small beginnings. A little effort exerted makes the picture a complete one. In academics, one has to go through ladder of experiences before one reaches the top. When one enters the room and pick up a chair, the journey begins. Listening in the discussion builds the first step. Application of the lessons learned through assignments works for the second step. It follows that one can perform on examinations. These are some of the few works handed over, that as one looks back, he or she has seen the development brought about by academic work.

Excellence starts WITH academic work.
"All things sprang from small beginnings." WHAT IS THE BEST VERB TENSE TO USE HERE? IF IT'S A FACT OR SOMETHING THAT ONE CLAIMS AS TRUTH, WHAT IS THE TENSE TO USE?
"A little effort exerted makes the picture a complete one." HOW CAN WE SHORTEN THIS?
"In academics, one has to go through A (a ladder is not a noncount noun; it needs an article)ladder of experiences before one reaches the top."
"When one enters the room and pick up a chair, the journey begins." SPOT THE ERROR.
"Listening TO LECTURES / PARTICIPATING IN DISCUSSIONS..."
"...builds the first step" IS THE FIRST STEP.
"APPLYING lessons learned ON assignments IS the second step."
"It follows that one DOES WELL on examinations."
"These are some of the few (?) works (?) handed over, that as one looks back, he or she has seen the development brought about by academic work. BETTER REPHRASE THIS SENTENCE. "HANDED OVER", "LOOKS BACK", "HAS SEEN",ETC. IT'S ALL MIXED UP AND CONVOLUTED. SAY WHAT YOU MEAN AS SIMPLY AND AS PRECISELY AS YOU CAN.
